Naturgartenparadies Beisteiner
Model garden
Description
The garden of trained florist and organic farmer Anita Beisteiner in Lichtenegg is buzzing and humming from the very first step. Bees, bumblebees and many other beneficial insects are the best employees in the garden paradise and make the herbs, vegetables and plants really sprout. With her green paradise, she is a member of "Nature in the Garden", a campaign that recognizes ecological gardens without artificial fertilizers, pesticides and peat.
The seminar farmer has been working on her garden for several years, using whatever materials she could find in the area - wood, bricks, old shoes or even a stove that no longer works. In the various areas of the garden you will find rarities of vegetables and herbs that invite you to pluck and taste them: Shield steamer, which has a sour taste like vinegar, Melothrian cucumbers that grow no bigger than a thumb, or the oddly shaped pear tomatoes. Everything that grows in the permaculture-inspired garden is used and processed, and seed propagation produces an abundance of plants. And should the snails ever attack the delicacies, they are fought off with pure homeopathy. It's not just the little plants that feel at home here, dwarf goats have also found their home here and seem to enjoy the wonderful surroundings very much.
During guided tours of the garden, you can see how much love for detail and nature has gone into creating a natural garden paradise from virtually nothing. Anita Beisteiner also offers workshops and herb walks for anyone interested. The creative gardener also makes a variety of lovely decorative items out of wood and homemade hay cards, which are very popular as special gifts. And of course, the herb and vegetable plants are also for sale on site!
