Bauernmuseum Lanzenkirchen
Museum
Description
A good 35 years ago, Klaus Haberler began collecting everyday objects from rural and artisan life. The Lanzenkirchen Farmers' Museum began with 600 exhibits, and today 6,000 exhibits show what life used to be like in the region with free admission.
Many of the exhibits come directly from farmers from Lanzenkirchen and other places in Steinfeld and the Bucklige Welt. In the past, it was mainly agricultural equipment, kitchen utensils and objects from the trades, but over time radios, vintage cars and cameras were also added. The highlight of the museum, however, is the troad box with information on grain processing.
A troad box is a granary. The one in the Lanzenkirchen Farmers' Museum is a good 280 years old and has been lovingly thatched with straw. The first floor of the two-storey log building can be visited.
