Beautiful hiking trail through the "Land of 1000 Hills." Schlägen is a very quiet hamlet of Bad Schönau and offers a wonderful view. The hike continues through the forest to Habich!

On the approximately six and a half kilometer path from Bad Schönau via Schlägen to Habich, you can explore the Bucklige Welt around the spa town of Bad Schönau. The village square in Bad Schönau is the ideal starting point for hikes and walks. Here you also find the tourist information office and, due to the central location, you can reach the start of the route from various hotels and accommodation providers in Bad Schönau. The hiking trail leads over hills and valleys; after crossing the Hallergraben, you reach the first stop. Schlägen is situated at 727 meters above sea level and offers a wonderful view over the hilly landscape of the Bucklige Welt. Through fields and forest, the path continues to the hamlet of Habich. From here, you can continue towards Hochneukirchen to the Hutwisch or to Kirchschlag.

The starting point is at the village square. From there, go right onto the main street and along the E1 path. After the cemetery, turn left, where the route now follows the blue marked E4 path. At the intersection where the E2 path crosses, go straight ahead and you reach a short street section where the E14 path is crossed. First turn right and then immediately left onto the hiking trail E4. The path now leads straight uphill into the hamlet of Schlägen. After passing through the village, turn right uphill and shortly after turn left. Follow this path straight ahead until, after about 2.2 kilometers, you reach a fork in the road. Here turn left until you reach Habich in about 400 meters.

From Vienna: Take the South Motorway A2, exit at Krumbach. At exit 76-Krumbach, drive towards Krumbach/Hungary and continue via the Krumbach junction onto the B55. In Bad Schönau, turn right onto the main road. Turn right onto Kurhausstraße.
From Graz: Take the South Motorway A2, exit at Aspang-Zöbern. Turn right onto L137. Follow the road. Turn right onto Kirchschlager Str./B55. In Bad Schönau, turn right onto the main road. Turn right onto Kurhausstraße.
