A quiet and contemplative cycling route stretches from Lanzenkirchen via Mittereck and Ofenbach.
Description
Those who enjoy traveling on quiet, almost deserted paths will especially like the Rosalien route. Here, you rarely meet other cyclists on the entire route. Still, the route is worth a trip and a real insider tip. It begins at the Grandhotel Niederösterreichischer Hof in Lanzenkirchen and leads you through the Süßenbrunn Forest directly to the ridge of the Rosalien Mountains. Occasionally, you will encounter somewhat steeper, more challenging sections of the path, but they're really worth it, as you can even catch a glimpse of the Schneeberg at times. Passionate mountain bikers will get their money's worth. The descent through the Große Kaiserwald, which takes you into the Ofenbach valley, is particularly pleasant. Worth seeing there is the 13th-century Ofenbach mountain chapel. You can also enjoy a nice stop at the resting place. Then you'll quickly return to the starting point of the circuit via Frohsdorfer Hauptstraße.
