Schloss Katzelsdorf

Description

Katzelsdorf Castle, sung about by the minnesinger Ulrich von Liechtenstein, was built in the 12th century and owes its present form to Wolf Mathias Freiherr von Königsberg. The castle has changed hands countless times, including Countess Carolina von Lipona (Napoleon's sister), Marie Therese (Duchess of Angouleme, daughter of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette) and the Duchess of Bourbon-Este (wife of Count Chambord).

In 1994, it was bought by the municipality and developed into a supra-regional event and seminar center.

It is also particularly popular as a romantic wedding castle with a registry office.

The castle houses the Postpartner office and the service point of the municipality of Katzelsdorf with a ticket office for events in the castle.
