Description

Up-to-date information on opening times at www.dasturmcafe.at

TheTurmcafé is located right at the entrance to the Archaeological Open-Air Museum - just a short walk from the parking lot. The path leads across the grounds of the Celtic Festival, past pot-bellied pigs, emus, goats, pigeons and peacocks, through a small wooded area to the observation tower, where theTurmcafé is located on the first floor.

Regional, of course

After this short tour of discovery, theTurmcafé invites you to take a break. Pastries and ice cream, a small snack menu with regional breads and hot and cold drinks are on offer.

Special attention is paid to ingredients from the community and region: bread and pastries, meat and sausage products, pumpkin seed oil, herbal salt, butter, syrups and liqueurs are sourced by producers from Schwarzenbach; beer, mineral water, juices and pastries from the surrounding area.

After the break

The terrace area, which is covered by large, shady treetops, is particularly cosy. The adjoining open-air museum is directly accessible via a turnstile; children can move around freely and within sight.

After a refreshment, it is worth climbing the 26-metre high, barrier-free Johann Giefing observation tower. From the top, the view extends across Burgenland to Geschriebenstein and Bucklige Welt, and on to Hochwechsel, Rax and Schneeberg.

The entire facility - with tower café, WC facilities, seminar room and observation tower - is accessible for wheelchair users. The meadow area of the open-air museum can also be visited, depending on the type of wheelchair. Parking spaces are available directly at the tower café.

New since 2025:

The Turmcafé can be hired as an event location for celebrations, seminars and events of all kinds.
