dasTurmcafé

Description

Season 2025 with limited opening hours. Current information at www.dasturmcafe.at

The Turmcafé is located right at the entrance to the Archaeological Open-Air Museum. After a short walk from the parking lot across the festival grounds, past pot-bellied pigs, emus, goats, pigeons and peacocks and a wooded area, you reach the observation tower.

In the 2025 season, the Turmcafé is open on a limited basis (at least once a month from May to August) and offers its guests delicious pastries and ice cream, a small snack menu with regional breads as well as hot and cold drinks.

The focus is on using products from the local community and the surrounding region:Bread and pastries, meat and sausage products, award-winning pumpkin seed oil, herbal salt, butter, syrups and liqueurs are sourced by local producers, while beer, mineral water, juices and pastries come from the surrounding area.

The terrace area, which is covered by large, shady treetops, is particularly cozy. You can enter the adjacent open-air museum at any time via a turnstile, where children can also move around within sight of the Turmcafé.

After refreshments, it's best to head up to the 26m high, barrier-free "Johann Giefing observation tower" - where you can enjoy far-reaching views towards Hungary, across Burgenland, the Geschriebenstein and the Bucklige Welt, as far as the Hochwechsel, Rax and Schneeberg.
