Description

The world in miniature

The world of pewter figures in Katzelsdorf is a special kind of family museum. What used to be toys are now coveted collector's items. Historical events, fairy tales, movie actors, old toys and much more are presented on 1,200 m2 of exhibition space (40,000 figures). The fascination of handcrafted miniatures at the highest level enchants young and old alike. You are drawn into the small world through intensive observation.

Not every pewter figure is a pewter soldier! The world of pewter figures is far more diverse. It is aimed at passionate collectors and enthusiasts, interested amateurs and all those who are enthusiastic about the historical and cultural-historical themes of the region. Last but not least, it is also aimed at children, as the pewter figure originally served as a toy.

The almost 40,000 pewter figures on display - some presented as individual figures, some composed into scenes or arranged in dioramas - come from all eras of history. During guided tours, you can look over the shoulder of the master pewter figure caster. Other activities, such as painting pewter figures, building displays or tabletop games, can also be experienced in the world of pewter figures. A highlight: the show casting every first Sunday of the month.
