The Thoughts Path is a project of HS Krumbach and the polytechnical school under the leadership of OSR Dir. Friedrich Geiderer and is accessible year-round.
Description
“There is no path that leads only in one direction.” Along the Thoughts Path, you will find panels with short texts by the author Ernst Ferstl that invite you to pause and reflect.
Under the direction of OSR Director Friedrich Geiderer, the path was opened in 2008 as a project of HS Krumbach and the polytechnical school. Along the Zöbernbach, there is a paved walking path that leads within an hour from the village center of Bad Schönau to Krumbach. The destination is the museum village in Krumbach, where a local history museum has been set up in the former civic hospital. Those who want to refresh themselves after the hike can continue to the Gasthof Heissenberger and the Krumbacherhof. At the beginning of the hike, a detour to the inn Triad, known far beyond the local boundaries in Bad Schönau, is also possible. The creative and high-quality cuisine at Triad has already been recognized several times by Gault Millau and Falstaff - table reservation is recommended.
The path is cleared in winter and is therefore accessible all year round as well as suitable for cycling. Please still watch out for slippery spots! We recommend sturdy footwear and waterproof outdoor clothing.
Many regional routes of the Vienna Alpine arc also start and end in Krumbach, such as the route to Gschaidt via Krumbach Castle, the route to Maria Schnee, or the route to Kirchschlag.

Route description Ernst Ferstl "Thoughts Path" Bad Schönau - Krumbach
In Bad Schönau, the path starts at the village square in front of the community office. The “Thoughts Path” initially leads us along the bike path by the Zöbernbach to the sawmill and then continues over the old road to the museum village in Krumbach.
Accessibility: The entire route is paved. Between the sawmill and Krumbach, the path crosses a street (partly with, partly without a sidewalk). Coming from Bad Schönau, there is an uphill stretch of about 200 m from Unterhaus; otherwise, the route has little ascent.
