Description

The leisure and sports community of Lanzenkirchen is part of the Bucklige Welt - Thermal Spas experience region. On the Katzelsdorf-Bad Erlach stage of the hiking trail "Am Wiener Alpenbogen" there are 3 local paths starting in Lanzenkirchen. They invite pleasure hikers to discover the scenic diversity of the experience region. The approximately 6 km long Frohsdorferweg is one of these local paths. It leads from the center of Lanzenkirchen along the Leitha to the district of Frohsdorf. Here, the Frohsdorf castle, built in the 16th century, can be admired. Through quiet forest areas, one reaches the ridge of the Rosalia mountains onto the Wiener Alpenbogen path. Culinary delights are also taken care of. Along the way there are numerous places to stop, such as Cafe Restaurant Adrienn or the Heurigen Fingerlos. The Frohsdorferweg offers a beautiful and cozy mountain hike for visitors of the thermal region!

Route description Frohsdorfer Weg (LA 1)

The route begins at the municipal office, via Schulgasse and Ofenbachstraße, following the red-white-red markings towards Rosalia. After crossing the Leitha bridge, take a left turn, then the path leads along the wild-romantic Leitha trail to the lower bridge. There, turn right and follow the street. Before Lilienhof, turn left into Frohsdorf main street, then right past the picturesque castle and then left again into Rosenthalerstraße. Next is a junction into Berggasse, which goes straight ahead and cross-country to a street (Am Weinberg). There, turn right, follow the path uphill and after about 3 km, along the red-white-red markings through the forest, the Rosalien ridge between Schanikreuz and Krieriegel is reached. From here, it is possible to continue hiking on the Wiener Alpenbogen route.
