Brief description

The path to the Kulmriegel peak is a short extension of the castle path G1a

Description

The path runs on forest paths over the Grimmenstein Kulmriegel. You can take a short rest at the Mariengrotto, then continue to Grimmenstein Castle, where you can dine in the castle tavern. Continuing on, there is a side path to the peak of Kulmriegel, the local mountain of the municipality of Grimmenstein. Returning on the castle path, continue over Eben and the Kunstgraben back to the starting point.

Route description Grimmenstein Path to Kulmriegel Peak

Signposted with G1 (Kulmriegelweg) - G1a (Castle Path) - G1c (Path to the Peak)

Starting from Rathausplatz, follow Schulgasse to the Kunstgraben junction. Here turn left uphill to the bridge, then take the path into the forest to the right towards the grotto. Pass the grotto and before the Grün settlement, turn left towards the castle. Pass the castle and just before the Eben settlement turn left into the Kunstgraben. From here, it goes downhill back to Schulgasse and to Rathausplatz.

Access via the A2, exit Grimmenstein, possible.

Parking

Parking is possible at Edlitz-Grimmenstein train station.
