Brief description

The chapel circular route leads through the hamlets Eben to the Urbankapelle and back.

Description

A beautiful, extensive circular hiking route that leads from the village center to the outlying hamlet of Eben and further to the Urbankapelle. From there it goes back via the viewpoint at the Grubbauern Höhe to the village center.

Route description Hochegg Chapel Route

The loop starts from the village square in Hochegg heading into Himberger Straße. Through the hamlet Himberg, continue along until you reach the hamlet Eben. There turn left twice until you reach Heißenhofstraße. Continue there, after about 3 km turn left at the fork to the Urbankapelle. At the chapel, turn left towards Hochegg, past the Grubbauern Höhe (viewpoint) and through the hamlet Hollabrunn. Now follow the road to the transformer station, then turn left onto Lärchenweg and along the state hospital and the Hochegger Straße back to the village square.

Directions

Exit the Südautobahn A2 at the Grimmenstein exit, then turn left on the Wechselbundesstraße, pass the town of Grimmenstein and before the crossroads towards Aspang turn right to Hochegg.

Parking

At the entrance to the village of Hochegg there is a large car park, also opposite the former Gasthof zur Linde.
