Description
The Katzelsdorf-Bad Erlach stage of the path on the Vienna Alpine Arc runs through the thermal municipalities and Katzelsdorf. From here, several local paths branch off, including the Katzelsdorf cultural hiking trail.
The cultural hiking trail bears its name rightly, as it passes numerous sights. The starting point is at Schloss Katzelsdorf, where the castle restaurant also offers the opportunity to refresh yourself for the hike. On the approximately 9 km long route are the most important sights of Katzelsdorf, including churches, chapels, and the tin soldier museum. The trail also offers numerous places to stop for refreshments, such as the Genussbauern-Heurigen Böhm. Other culinary stops are the starred restaurant Görg and the wine taverns of the Brix, Handler, Schadl, and Döller families.
In the district of Eichbüchl, the trail goes slightly uphill, but the effort is rewarded. The path leads to Schloss Eichbüchl and the associated viewpoint, where the Vienna Alpine Viewer offers new perspectives on the surroundings.
Nature and landscape lovers will also get their money’s worth. Quiet paths along the Leitha and forest trails at the foot of the Rosalien Mountains offer a special nature experience. There is something for everyone on the Katzelsdorf cultural hiking trail.

Route description Katzelsdorfer cultural hiking trail (KA 3)
This route description refers to the start through Augasse, heading south towards Eichbüchl. Since it is a circular hiking trail, the route can also be started in the opposite direction.
From the starting point at the castle, the route leads right onto Mühlgasse, then crosses the river. At the second next intersection, turn right into Augasse. Augasse leads to a path that follows along the river until an asphalt road (Burkhardtweg) is reached again. There, turn left onto the road (Leithafurth, Furthweg), which leads over the Leitha to Eichbüchl. At the Görg restaurant, turn left onto Dr.-Karl-Renner-Weg, which leads to a gravel path. Follow this path, which first makes a right and then a left turn. The path ends at an asphalt road (Im Prest) that leads to Eichbüchlerstraße. Here, turn right. Follow the road and at the next opportunity turn right into Kirchengasse. Kirchengasse leads to a T-junction (Am Berg), where you turn left into Dammstraße and immediately afterwards right onto Alleeweg. At the next two turning options, turn left each time, leading to Kellerstraße. There, take a left to stay on Kellerstraße. Then turn right onto Triftweg and at the next opportunity turn left onto Leithaweg. After a curve, continue right. Pass a sharp right curve, then keep left to cross the Leitha. After reaching a paved path, turn right. Continue along the Leitha and past a pond until Grillgasse, where you turn left. At the next intersection, the path leads left onto the main road, following the signs back to Schloss Katzelsdorf.
