Description

The path passes some sights and inns, over fields and forest paths or quiet roads, with the option of a shortcut and a short detour to the bee educational trail.

Route description Kirchschlag circular route D2 via Lembach and herbal hostess Gerda Stocker

Marking D2

Pass right by the Rosengarten and the Kirchschlag fortified church, turn right at the T-junction and continue past the Gasthaus/Butcher Pürrer and Café Winhofer. At the next intersection, turn right towards the B55, then left along the B55 to the next turn into Karlerstraße. Follow the Schlagmichlweg; after the last house, the path becomes a forest road. Cross the state road at the crest and continue along the forest road. Before the junction with the bee educational trail, turn left to continue on the Schlagmichlweg until Wiedmanns.

For the short route, turn left here to Lembach, Gasthaus Stocker.

For the long route, keep right here, continue on the forest road to the Gaismühle. After the Gaismühle, turn left and follow the signs. Follow the Berg goods road to Gasthaus Stocker in Lembach.

From here, follow the street, shortly afterwards turn right into Steinriegelweg up to the transmission mast, then follow the Mitterbacher Weg/Mariazellerweg to Bäckergasse. From here, cross a small wooden bridge to the Äußerer Markt and back to the starting point.

Directions

From Vienna: Take the South Motorway A2, exit at Krumbach. Continue on the Krumbach junction. Continue on Kirchschlager Str./B55 to Kirchschlag.

From Graz: Take the South Motorway A2, exit at Aspang-Zöbern. Turn right onto L137. Continue on Kampichl and Hauptstraße. Hauptstraße turns left in Zöbern and becomes Austraße. Follow L137 to Unterhaus near Krumbach and turn right to Kirchschlag.

By train to the Edlitz/Grimmenstein station, then by regional bus to "Gemeindeamt" Kirchschlag
