Wiesmath
Description
Geographically, Wiesmath is located in the south-east of Lower Austria on the border with Burgenland in the northern section of the Bucklige Welt next to the Pauliberg, Austria's last active volcano. It is a plateau with an altitude of 696 m above sea level.
At any time of the year, locals and guests use our beautiful landscape for physical exercise. In addition to hiking (10 marked circular hiking trails), running and Nordic walking, mountain biking is also very popular. The equestrian center in the Lehen district is a special attraction in the Bucklige Welt's network of riding trails.
The beach volleyball court and the tennis courts are not only an interesting leisure activity for young people.
The cider taverns with their home-made products are very popular in our municipality. Especially in the warmer months of the year, walks in blooming nature can be wonderfully combined with a good Brettljause and a fresh glass of Cider.
Thanks to the commitment of numerous businesses and inns, the local supply is guaranteed. The commercial tree in the center of the village is also a symbol of this.
Wiesmath is well worth a visit, with the following to see and experience: Pilgrimage church of St. Anna with the traditional Annakirtag, fortified church of St. Peter and Paul, vantage point with views from the Niederwechsel to the Vienna Basin and from the Rosalia Mountains to the Hungarian Plain, lovingly designed farm museum, culinary delights in the inns and cider taverns as well as attractive events throughout the year.
