Pfarrkirche Walpersbach

Church

Description

The popular Marian pilgrimage church became too small due to the large number of pilgrims and so the parish church of Walpersbach was rebuilt on the small main square in 1713. The reason for the numerous pilgrimages is the "miracle of blood". According to eyewitnesses, blood is said to have flowed from a hole above the pulpit of the little church between 1585 and 1587.

Today, pilgrims make a pilgrimage to St. Mary's Church, which also has one of the most beautiful altars in the area, and concerts are sometimes held in the baroque building.
