Wehrobergeschoß der Pfarrkirche Hochneukirchen
Church, Historical sites
Description
The Wehrobergeschoß, which was created at the beginning of the 16th century - it served as a place of refuge for the population at the time of the threat from the Turks - was repaired and made accessible in 1983 when the church was extended and rebuilt. Since the anniversary year 1995, when the parish celebrated "700 years of Hochneukirchen", concerts and exhibitions have been held in the Wehrobergeschoß about twice a year. The embrasures and spy holes walled up on the outside are still visible on the inside.
A tour of the Wehrobergeschoß is possible on request at the parish office or municipal office, information on guided tours is available from the market town of Hochneukirchen-Gschaidt on 02648/20206 or marktgemeinde@hochneukirchen-gschaidt.at
