The Association for Quality Assurance for Hiking in Austria (Vereinigung zur Qualitätssicherung für Wandern in Österreich e.V.) awards the Austrian Hiking Quality Seal to particularly exceptional trails, regions and businesses.

Establishments that have dedicated themselves to the particular needs of hikers are recognisable by the special quality mark “Wandergütesiegel”. At these hiking hotels, guests receive documentation on the hiking routes in the region, there is a hiking equipment rental service and also, if possible, a hiking guide and a transport service.
