Leírás
The late Gothic parish church in Kirchschlag in der Bucklige Welt was built by the Pottendorf family in the 15th century and later extended as a fortified church.
The parish church, which is dedicated to St. John the Baptist, has shaped the townscape of the municipality for hundreds of years. Here you will find the typical traces of its subsequent adaptation as a fortified church.
A shooting bay in the attic, embrasures, partially bricked-up tracery windows and a particularly fortified churchyard gate, which is the only surviving one in the Bucklige Welt. Around the fortified church is the scented rose garden and the rose nature trail, which create a special atmosphere.
The church in Kirchschlag is open all day until 19:00.
Guided tours of the church are available on request, Kirchschlag parish: 02646 2243
